Fifth recognition in seven years reflects a culture built on listening, continuous improvement, and great people.
NORTH BERWICK, Maine, October 16, 2026 – Hussey Seating Company has been named one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Maine, marking the company’s fifth recognition in seven years.
For the seventh-generation Maine manufacturer, the honor means even more because of the people behind it.
Each year, Hussey employees are invited to share candid, anonymous feedback about their experience at work, what’s working, what could improve. That feedback plays an important role in both the Best Places to Work process and in Hussey’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
“You don’t become a great place to work by saying you are one,” said Brian Deveaux, President and CEO of Hussey Seating Company. “You become one by listening to your people and continuing to put in the work. For generations, our employees have kept this company moving forward through their commitment to our customers, one another, and the work they do every day. This recognition belongs to them.”
“We’re certainly pleased to be recognized again, and our employees deserve the credit,” said Rich Hussey, Vice President of Human Resources. “Their commitment is unmatched, and they’re the people who truly make Hussey a great place to work. Their candid feedback also helps us understand what’s working, where we can improve, and how we can continue strengthening the employee experience.”
The latest employee survey offered plenty to celebrate: 94% of employees said they like the people they work with, the highest-rated statement in the survey, and nearly 92% said they are proud to work for Hussey Seating.
Those results reflect something that has shaped Hussey for generations: great work starts with great people.
That commitment to listening continues beyond the award. Hussey will once again invite employees to participate in its workplace survey this year, providing another opportunity to learn from their experiences and identify ways to continue strengthening the employee experience.
The Best Places to Work in Maine program evaluates participating organizations through an assessment of workplace policies and practices and anonymous employee feedback. At the October 13 awards ceremony in Augusta, Hussey was also recognized as a top-ranked manufacturer in the Large Employer category.
