Overview

Local Hussey Dealer: Southeastern Surfaces and Equipment (SSE)

The University of North Florida (UNF) was looking for a partner to upgrade its seating solutions in the UNF Arena to adapt for accessibility and to replace older seating that had been throughout the facility. UNF wanted to enhance the spectator experience while also ensuring safety and comfort. To achieve this they partnered with Hussey Seating Company and local dealer Southeastern Surfaces and Equipment (SSE).

UNF encountered several issues with their existing seating arrangements:

ADA concerns: The existing did not meet the latest safety standards, and ADA guidelines.
Limited seating capacity: The current seating did not accommodate the growing number of spectators.
Aging infrastructure: The outdated seating system required frequent maintenance, leading to increased costs.

Collaborating with UNF, Hussey Seating and SSE provided the University with an effective solution. Making minor adjustments to the seating layout, Hussey designed a solution where students and fans will be able to get to their seats from the top row instead of just the bottom - and truncations where the band is able to play on the court. Fulfilling their needs for seating the University opted for:

MAXAM+ Telescopic Seating with Metro Chairs: This system allows for flexible seating arrangements. The telescopic feature maximizes space utilization, providing UNF with the ability to adjust seating based on event requirements. Additionally, Metro chairs are designed for comfort and functionality, ensuring that spectators can enjoy events without discomfort. Along with this platform, Hussey and SSE engineered a custom ADA platform for fans requiring accessibility.
Fixed Quattro Chairs: After the initial renovations, the University upgraded their hospitality suite. These chairs offer ergonomic design and exceptional comfort.

The partnership between UNF, SSE and Hussey Seating Company yielded impressive results. The new seating solutions significantly enhanced comfort, excellent support for spectators, durable telescopic platforms, increased ADA accessibility and safety. The combination of comfort and modern aesthetics has greatly improved the overall spectator experience.
