November 16, 2016 – North Berwick, ME – Over the past three years Hussey Seating Company, in collaboration with Rolling Thunder Chapters across the country, has created a program to honor American servicemen and women who are or have been Prisoners of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA). This program dedicates POW/MIA Honor Chairs at gathering places throughout the nation. Each chair displays the POW/MIA emblem and remains empty as a symbol to those who never made it home. Recently, a bill supported by Senator Angus King directed the Architect of the Capitol to place a chair honoring POW/MIAs in the US Capitol building.
So said Leon Tanguay, a WW II veteran who spent nine months in a POW camp. Leon laid a rose of dedication on our Chair of Honor, in the Hussey Seating showroom yesterday.
I will admit I had "shivers" as well, being moved, as I felt the appreciation of so many veterans who attended our Dedication Ceremony yesterday.
