POW/MIA Chair of Honor to be placed in US Capitol

November 16, 2016 – North Berwick, ME – Over the past three years Hussey Seating Company, in collaboration with Rolling Thunder Chapters across the country, has created a program to honor American servicemen and women who are or have been Prisoners of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA). This program dedicates POW/MIA Honor Chairs at gathering places throughout the nation. Each chair displays the POW/MIA emblem and remains empty as a symbol to those who never made it home. Recently, a bill supported by Senator Angus King directed the Architect of the Capitol to place a chair honoring POW/MIAs in the US Capitol building.

High School Athletic Directors - A rare breed

Yesterday I participated in a focus group with our Marketing staff and five local high school athletic directors. Part of the Hussey Seating "secret sauce" is really knowing our customers, and this is one of our means to truly understand what our customers needs, wants, wishes, challenges, and dreams are.

Biz ain't bad...

As more than half our business is centered around K-12 school facilities, the news headlines continue to be grim. Voters aren't approving bond issues, states have no money for new construction, and in fact Dodge / McGraw-Hill shows school construction down 17% in the first quarter of 2012, compared to 2011. And this is is after four straight years of significant declines. The fact is, there are a lot fewer facilities needing new seating...
